Be Humble – Value Others Above Yourself

Another week down for the prayer challenge and I continue to experience benefits and blessings in my life. This week my goal was to practice the pause and pray that I can be aware of the need to pause. Trying to be mindful to practice the pause this week has been profound for me. First I realized how much I try to handle without praying first. During the week when I experienced a concerning moment, my instinct was to fix it. But I would be reminded of practicing the pause, so I would pause and pray. It was a struggle at first, because my default is trying to fix things. What I noticed was even with my crazy notion of trying fix something, the pause would happen and fixing it would beyond my control. God blessed me the pause by giving me no other options. Of course, this didn’t necessarily make the pausing easier for me, it just forced me to pause. Forcing me to pause did prompt me to pray because that’s all I could do. This week has been eye opening for me and I will continue to pray about practicing the pause.

As we begin a new week, I’m mindful of the relationships in my life. I want to be more for those important people in my life and the way I can be more and do more for them is by praying for them daily. This week, my prayer prompt is to pray for the loved ones in my life. I’m going to take time today to make a list of at least 10 people in my life that I will include in my daily prayers. Each day, I’m going to take time to pray for the people on my list by name and for God to bless them in a special way. Each day, I will add at least one other name to my list and include them in my daily prayers. By the end of the week, my list should include at least 16 people. Hope you will join me in pray for loved ones.
