Reflections on a Year of Blogging

It’s hard to believe we are now in the 3rd month of 2020. What I find even more surprising is that March 24th marks one year for My Nichols Worth blog! This year of writing my blog has been a bigger blessing than I ever thought. When I started the blog, I really didn’t know what to expect. I began the blog as a place to share my thoughts and experiences. I hoped the blog would help me grow closer to God and encourage others in their Christian walk.

When I reflect back over the year, I can say that this blog has helped me grow closer to God. I will admit that I’ve been surprised by how much growth I’ve seen in my life. My faith has gotten stronger, my bible knowledge has increased, and my prayer life has grown.

Another surprise I’ve experienced is the feedback that I’ve received from friends and readers. While I hoped that my blog might encourage someone, I never expected it would encourage so many friends and readers. It has been humbling to read and hear comments from people about articles I’ve written.

While those benefits and blessings are more than enough to keep me motivated to continue this blog, I have experienced even more. Through my blog, I’ve met people I would have never had the opportunity to meet, I’ve received an invitation to speak at a Ladies Day, I’ve submitted some devotional thoughts for an upcoming ladies devotional book, and I’ve created a scripture writing journal.

As I’m about to embark on my 2nd year of blogging, I want to be more conscientious with my goal setting and be mindful of the direction God wants to take my blog.

So I’ve made a list of goals I hope to accomplish in year 2 of blogging.

Blogging – Year 2 Goals

  • Write a weekly Meditation Mondays post
  • Add at least 2 series to the “Bible Study” section
  • Complete one 30 Day Bible Study Challenge
  • Write and publish a Ladies bible study book
  • Grow my readers to 500
  • Be more diligent to pray about my blog.

While setting my goals for year 2 of blogging, I’m mindful that we are not guaranteed tomorrow and don’t know what that future holds. So with all of the goals, I keep in my that they all fall under the most important and ultimately only true goal – Accept God’s will for my blog and my life. I pray that God blesses the blog as He sees fit and that He can use me for His glory.

As always thanks for reading and God bless.

‘Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.’ James 4:13-15

Until next time,
