30 Days of Thanks – Day 18

Yesterday I got to spend some time with my brother, Chris and his wife, Karen. While I don’t get to spend time with them often, I do enjoy the moments we get together. When I think about blessings in my life, my brother and his family definitely rank high on my list.

God blessed me wonderfully with my brother. Honestly it’s not something I can ever really elaborate on all that he has done for me, so I won’t try. I will say that throughout my life he has continually been there for me and he took the role of big brother to heart. When we were younger, I remember the mindfulness he had about his Christian example to me. As an adult, he has continued to be a source of strength for me in my spiritual walk.

When Chris decided to ask Karen to be his wife, that decision blessed me with a sister-in-law. And Karen took on the role of older sister to me just like I was her own. She has also been there for me through the years and she has been a wonderful aunt to my children.

I’m very appreciative that God gave Chris and Karen to my family and me. I’m grateful that because of the life they’ve shared, I’ve enjoyed the privilege of being an aunt. It has been a blessing to be a part of their lives and I’m so thankful they’ve been a part of mine.

So today I give thanks for my brother, Chris and his wife, Karen. I’m thankful for the role they’ve filled in my life. I’m thankful for their example, their love, and their support. I’m thankful that they love the Lord and help point others to heaven.

“He will bless those who fear the LORD— small and great alike. May the LORD cause you to flourish, both you and your children.” Psalms 115:13-14

Until next time,
