30 Days of Thanks – Day 11

This weekend I received an email from one of closest friends, Laura. Laura and I have been friends so long, she and her son are more like my family. One of the reasons I love Laura is her heart. She has a heart that loves the Lord and wants to be a shining light for Him. She sent me this email on Saturday that gives just a glimpse of her heart, her love for others, and her love for the Lord. When you have a friend like this, you can’t help but be better.

I’m sharing her email with her permission. She wrote the email with the thought it might provide inspiration for a blog post by me. But I feel the words of her email capture her heart best.

Your thankfulness blog got me to start writing what I was thankful for but this is what came out. It is not fixed or punctuated just my thoughts but if it has anything in it that you can share in your blog or with your other friends then maybe it can help someone. I’m so sad that I’ve spent my whole life not being content and being scared and God has been so hurt by my lack of trust. I wish we all could see past tools the devil uses.= pride of life, lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes.  Thank you so much for helping me. I don’t have Christ-like people surrounding me all the time so when you bring Jesus to me by your text and blog I am grounded.” I love you, Laura

And that is why I’m so appreciative that God gave me ‘my Laura’. So, today I give thanks for the immeasurable blessing of my friend, Laura. She grounds me and helps me remember my purpose on this earth – to love God, to love others, and to keep His commands.

“One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24

Until next time,
