“I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, And on Your wondrous works.” Psalms 145:5
While sitting at my computer, the view from the kitchen window caught my eye. I saw the pop of yellow and orange in the distance. It prompted me to close my computer and take a moment to step outside to get a picture of the fall colors around my house. When I opened the door, I felt the rush of cool air causing a shock to my system. I took time to breath deep and fill my lungs with the fresh air. As I breathed in and out, I felt the peace and calm overtake the tension in my body. After a few deep breaths, I remembered my goal of some photos of fall colors. I let my eyes scan the view for a shot for my picture and observed the beautiful colors that surrounded me. Using my phone and lens attachment, I tried to get a decent picture. I was quickly reminded of my inadequate photographic abilities. It was then that I wished my daughter was with me so she could find those perfect camera angles to capture that glimpse of God’s creation amidst the man-made structures that obstructed my camera’s view. Continuing on with my feeble attempt, I tried my best to capture on camera some of the bliss I was experiencing. After making an effort to snap a few presentable shots, I decided to go back in the house. As I entered my home, the embrace of warmth gave me a cozy, comforting pleasure. It was then that I felt gratitude for that moment of time spent observing God’s handiwork.
So today I give thanks for the multiple blessings I received from that view from my window that prompted that rewarding occurrence.
- time to be still
- beautiful fall colors
- cool crisp air outside
- a daughter that taught me to see the beauty of nature through her camera lens
- warmth of inside my home
- peace I felt enjoying the beauty that surrounds my home
“Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; Let the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord.” Psalms 96:11-12
“But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; And the birds of the air, and they will tell you; Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; And the fish of the sea will explain to you. Who among all these does not know That the hand of the Lord has done this, In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind? ” Job 12:7-10
Lots of love and blessings to you and yours
